This type of care considers the entire person by paying attention to their medical health, behavioral health, and social situation. Meet Our Panelists

Bob Cleaveland began his career in the field of aging working as the Social Service Director at a large continuum of care retirement community (CCRC) in his hometown of Rockford Illinois. Desiring to make a greater impact, he left the CCRC to work for the Northwestern IL Area Agency on Aging (AAA), providing community-based services across 9 counties in northern Illinois. The highlight of his service there was creating and developing one of two Aging and Disability Resource Centers in Illinois. The desire for warmer winters and bluegrass music brought Bob to North Carolina in 2011. He has been with Piedmont Triad Regional Council Area Agency on Aging as an Aging Program Planner since 2012 where he works with county planning committees to allocate funding for services for older adults and their caregivers. Over the past few years, Bob has been serving on a team at the AAA looking for ways to collaborate with healthcare and insurance payers to address social needs that affect health.


Amelia Muse, PhD, LMFT is the Director of the Center of Excellence for Integrated Care for the Foundation for Health Leadership and Innovation. In her role, Dr. Muse helps systems of all sizes and configurations make the clinical, operational, and financial changes necessary to deliver whole person care. Dr. Muse provides training to equip providers and leadership with the skills to implement and deliver integrated care services as well as leads research and advocacy activities to improve quality and access for behavioral health care in North Carolina. care and insurance payers to address social needs that affect health.


Gayle Scott, MSW, LCSW is Director of Social Work on Authoracare Collective’s East Campus based in Burlington, NC. Gayle has over 25 years of experience in hospice and end of life care, car-ing for patients and families served by both Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance Caswell and the now merged organization Authoracare Collective. Gayle has a particular interest in Advance Care Planning. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and holds a Master Degree in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University.


Meet Our Moderator

Risa Hanau, LCSW is the Clinical and Community Educator at AuthoraCare Collective. Risa is a seasoned presenter and teacher in the area of end-of-life and ethics. She is a member of the Cone Health Ethics Committee. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker by training and holds a Master of Social Work from The University of Pennsylvania.
