On March 8 more than 450 people came together to support grieving and medically fragile children by attending the seventh annual Corks for Kids Path, which generated $115,000 (gross) for Kids Path.

This year’s corporate sponsors generated more than $45,000, while individual sponsorships grew 145 percent and raised more than $25,000. In addition, 45 cases of wine were sold raising $3,000. More than 100 volunteers and a planning committee led by Michelle Fish, Mindy Oakley and Lauren Tilley were responsible for making the event a success.

Guests enjoyed a selection of nearly 70 hand-crafted wines chosen by Zeto, locally-brewed beer from Natty Greene’s and other beers coordinated by 1618 Wine Bar, a delicious sampling of hors d’oeuvres from Painted Plate Catering, chocolates from Loco for Coco, creamy gelatos from Gnam Gnam, mini cupcakes from Easy Peasy Decadent Desserts and an elaborate silent auction that generated more than $21,000.

“Building on the wonderful history of Corks for Kids Path is especially significant because Kids Path relies on public support for 85 percent of its operating budget,” said Oakley. “Michelle, Lauren and I are extremely grateful for the opportunity to have worked on such a meaningful and important event.”
