While our Greensboro campus has held a Light Up A Life Service of Remembrance for the past 35 years, COVID-19 restrictions will not allow us to gather in person. Instead, the service will be offered virtually and will include special readings by staff members on both campuses, beautiful music and a message of inspiration from a local minister. Our Light Up a Life service will be held on Zoom on Sunday, December 6. Prelude music will be offered at 4:45 pm and the service will start promptly at 5 pm. Guests are encouraged to have a candle to light during the reflection portion of the service. This will allow us to connect virtually as we lift our candles and remember those who are dear to us. Please plan to join us and encourage the families you serve to join us too. This service can be accessed by anyone, regardless of whether you make a donation. You can register for this free event by clicking the registration button above.
Beginning Friday, Dec. 4 2020, luminaries will light the path around the Hospice Home and Beacon Place. Each symbolizing those patients currently there, as well as those served in past years. In addition, lights also will shine on the Hospice Trees of Remembrance located on AuthoraCare’s Burlington campus at 914 Chapel Hill Road and the front lawn of the Kontoor Brands Building, 400 N. Elm Street in downtown Greensboro. These lights will illuminate our campuses through the end of December.
A contribution of any size will place a light (symbolically) on the Hospice Trees of Remembrance. We suggest a $10 donation, but any donation will be recognized. Gifts can be made in honor/memory of family or friend, and they can be made by cash, check or credit card, by mail or online via the form below. Remembrances received by December 1 will be included in our virtual Light Up a Life service program.
All gifts will be acknowledged (regardless of when they are received prior to December 31) with our special Light Up a Life card. Donors receive a LUAL card with LUAL greeting and a message of thanks from AuthoraCare. Honorees receive a LUAL card with the LUAL greeting and a notification message of the name of person making the gift. And notice of memorial gifts will be sent to whomever the donor requests. The person being notified will receive a LUAL card with LUAL greeting and a message stating the name of the person making the gift.
