HPCG Physicians Achieve Certification

Greensboro, NC—Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro (HPCG) is proud to announce four staff physicians have achieved the Hospice and Palliative Medicine (HPM) board certification by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS). Juan-Carlos Monguilod, MD, Chief Medical Officer of HPCG, and staff physician, Rita Layson, MD, were re-certified. HPCG Staff Physicians, Donald Hertweck, MD, and Nimish Gosrani, MD became board certified for the first time. All four also hold board certification in Internal Medicine.

In recognition of the changing face of medicine in the US, the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) approved Hospice and Palliative Medicine (HPM) as a subspecialty, in September 2006. HPCG, hospice provider in Greater Greensboro for the last 31 years, is staffed with a Medical Services Team composed of six physicians, and three nurse practitioners.

HPCG, a non-profit agency, is situated on an eight-acre campus at 2500 Summit Avenue. HPCG provides physical, emotional and spiritual support for children and adults faced with a life-limiting illness, as well as their caregivers and families.
