Understanding comes from knowing. Volunteering provides many benefits for the volunteer and for the recipient of the volunteer’s service. Volunteering is at the very core of being human. No one has made it through life without someone else’s help. This webinar will discuss volunteer opportunities at AuthoraCare Collective, how to become involved, and how you may benefit from the experience.

Meet Our Panelists

Danielle Crosby
Volunteer
Danielle Crosby is an Instructional Designer with NC Agricultural & Technical State University.
She holds a B.A. in Economics from NC Agricultural & Technical State University and M. Ed in
Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Phoenix. Crosby has nearly 20 years of
teaching experience working with young students. The highlight of her teaching profession is
helping students learn about the endless opportunities to continue their educational growth
and building positive relationships. For the past six years, Crosby has been an active volunteer
with AuthoraCare Collective.

 

Teresa Pendergraft
Director of Volunteer Services and Integrated Personalized Support
Teresa Pendergraft is the Director of Volunteer Services and Integrated Personalized Support at AuthoraCare Collective. Her career at AuthoraCare began as a Volunteer Coordinator working directly with volunteers in several areas. Although her background is working with developmental disabilities, hospice has become her passion.

 


Meet Our Moderator

Risa Hanau, LCSW, is the Clinical and Community Educator at AuthoraCare Collective. Risa is a seasoned presenter and teacher in the area of end-of-life and ethics. She is a member of the Cone Health Ethics Committee. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker by training and holds a Master of Social Work from The University of Pennsylvania.
